The Council of Literary Magazines and Presses (CLMP) is rolling out an expanded catalogue for it's exciting new Lit Mag Adoption Program for Creative Writing Courses. This program offers half-price subscriptions for selected literary magazines to writing classes adopting them for course use (with free desk-copy subscriptions to the professors). You can adopt Literal for Fall 2010 courses on the CLMP Lit Mag Adoption Program Website now.
If you adopt a magazine, once during the semester a senior editor will participate in a virtual (or in person, if possible) meeting with your class. During this meeting, s/he may discuss the history of the magazine, the current literary landscape, the curatorial process, etc., allowing students to better understand the publishing community in which they're most likely to be published. The ultimate goal of this program is to expose students to the variety of magazines out there and promote an active, engaged reading culture among young writers.
Visit the CLMP Lit Mag Adoption Program website to review the online catalogue and resources. You can order Literal or any other magazine for Fall 2010 course adoptions. After you adopt a magazine, you will receive log-in information for your students to order their discounted subscriptions through the CLMP website.
